Cannon's version of the launcher is written in Rust (and is available as a crate).Since there is no legacy of using it on Unix systems, distributions wouldbe able to point it at the version that makes the most sense for them.Users and administrators could still change the default behavior as theywished as well. Cannon saidthat py is still missing some basic functionality, but he isworking on rectifying that. He intendsto keep working on it even if others do not find it all that useful:In my experience after using 'py' on Windows I consistently miss it on UNIXnow, so to me there is enough of a benefit that I will continue to chipaway at the project until it's done regardless of whether anyone else usesit. :)
