Valdre's prophecy

Gunhilda Smelhus, seen here photographed with a great-grandchild in the early 1970s, visited the Pentecostal preacher Emanuel Minos in 1968 to share a vision she had experienced. According to the 92-year-old woman, the mistreatment of a large influx of refugees would be a sign that the Third World War would break out.

A prophetic vision received by
Emanuel Minos:

The Sunday in July 1968 was warm. The well-known Pentecostal preacher Emanuel Minos was on a tour in Oppland, Norway. He had just finished a joint meeting at Bruflat Church in Etnedal, Valdres, when an elderly woman quietly approached him.

The woman had made the trip from the farm where she lived, one and a half kilometers away, to hear him speak. And to share with him a very special vision she had experienced.

After the meeting, on a church bench, Minos listened together with his wife Aase to the story of the 92-year-old widow Gunhilda Smelhus. She insisted that everything she had seen came from God. She asked the preacher to spread the message to people.

Emanuel Minos wrote down everything the old woman said. But it would take almost 30 years before he dared to mention what he had heard.

Emmanuel Minos held meetings where she lived. He met her and heard what she had experienced. He wrote it down, but it seemed so incomprehensible to him that he put it in a drawer. But now, after almost 30 years, he looked at it, and then he understood that he had to share it with others.

This is transcribed from a cassette that was recorded from a meeting in Sunnmøre in 1995. The lady from Valdres was a alert and truthful Christian who had a good reputation among all who knew her:

"I saw the world as a kind of globe. I saw Europe - country after country. I saw Scandinavia. I saw Norway. I saw certain scenes that would take place just before Jesus comes again, just before the final disaster breaks out over humanity, a disaster like we have never experienced before. She mentioned four blocks."

1. Just before Jesus came and the seriousness broke out, there was a relaxation that we have never had before. There was peace, and the peace was going to last for a while. During this period of peace, there was disarmament in many countries, including Norway, and we were not prepared this time either when it happened. The third world war was going to start in a way that no one had expected - and from an entirely unexpected source.

2. There will be an unprecedented lukewarm attitude among Christians. A departure from true and living Christianity among the Christians. Christians will not be open to searching preaching just before Jesus comes again. They will not, as before, listen to teachings about sin and grace, law and gospel, repentance and improvement. Instead, there will be a substitute:

PROSPERITY GOSPEL

It's all about becoming successful. It's about progress. It's about material goods, things that God has never promised us in this way. Churches, prayer houses, and meeting places will become more and more empty. Instead of the preaching that we have been accustomed to for generations - like taking up one's cross and following Jesus - there will be entertainment, art, and culture taking over churches, prayer houses, and places where there should be revival, distress, and repentance meetings. This will happen to a great extent just before Jesus comes again and disasters break out over us, and people will be spiritually asleep.

3. There will be a moral decay that Norway has never experienced before. People will live as if married without being married. Impurity before marriage and infidelity in marriage will become natural, and it will be excused on all fronts. It will even creep into Christian circles, and we will tolerate it - even sins against nature. Just before Jesus comes again, there will be TV programs that we have never seen before. TV will be full of violence, a violence so terrible that it will teach people to murder and destroy each other, and it will be unsafe to walk our streets.

People will imitate it. There won't be just one channel on TV; it will be full of channels. (She saw this with multiple channels already in 1968.) It will be exactly as we have it on the radio, where we can tune in to one station after another, and it will be filled with violence. People will find it entertaining - the worst scenes of murder and destruction of each other, and it will spread in society. On TV, there will also be scenes of intimacy. The most intimate things that happen in a marriage will be shown on the screen.

(This was in 1968, and I protested that we have laws prohibiting such things, Emmanuel Minos.)

Then the old lady said: It will happen, and you will see it. Everything we have had before will be broken down, and the most indecent things will be shown before our eyes.

4. People from poor countries will flock to Europe. They will also come to Scandinavia and Norway. There will be so many of them that people will dislike them and be harsh towards them. They will be treated like the Jews before the war. Then the purpose of our sins is fulfilled. (I protested about immigration. I didn't understand it then, Emmanuel Minos.)

Tears streamed down the old lady's face, and she said: I won't see it, but you will see it. Then suddenly Jesus will come again, and the third world war will break out. It will be a short war. All the wars I have experienced before will be nothing compared to this, and it will end with an atomic bomb.

The air will be so polluted that one cannot breathe in it. It will happen across several continents: America, Japan, Australia - the wealthy countries. The water will be destroyed. We cannot cultivate the earth anymore. The result will be that only a remnant remains. And the remnant in the wealthy countries will flee to the poor countries, but they will be just as harsh towards us as we were towards them when the time comes. I am so glad that I got to see this. But as the time approaches, you must gather courage and say this. I have received this from God. None of this contradicts the words of the Bible. See Revelation chapter 6 and onwards. But the one who has had their sins forgiven and has Jesus as their Savior and Lord is safe.
